The Story of Events by JVB
A NEW LOVE IS BORN.
So I let the hubs write on the blog! Here's his take on our marriage season and the beginning of Events by JVB.

Jordan and I’s story began rather unconventionally during our time together at Northern Illinois University. Both accounting majors (*cough* nerds *cough*), Jordan caught my eye when we shared a class together our junior year and so my plotting began. I started pestering a mutual friend for an introduction and quoting Wayne’s World to my buddies (“She will be mine, oh yes. She will be mine.”) but meanwhile, Jordan was working on her own introduction through a separate channel. Weeks passed as we took turns playing chicken but once we finally met, the rest was history. In hindsight, maybe we should have just spoken to each other directly…nah, what fun is that?
Those who know me know that I am not an easy person to please. From a boring diet to unabashed music snobbery, it is fair to say that I had a few opinions when it came to our wedding day. From a non-traditional venue to Mexican food to strict song sequencing, Jordan creatively planned our joint vision and authored a day that felt like an authentic reflection of ourselves…and it wasn’t just us who enjoyed it as the venue owner declared that he had never seen such a large group of people dance so hard.
Our wedding was the best day of our lives but for Jordan it also meant something more. She fell in love with the planning process and with the notion that orchestrating a perfect wedding can be a vehicle to unite families and friends around a special couple in a way that is rare in our busy culture. For her, planning weddings is deeply personal and is viewed as an opportunity to help others feel the same amount of joy that she felt on our day. As a completely unbiased and objective observer, I can guarantee that if you invite her into your big day that she will treat it with the care and thoughtfulness as if it were her own.
